First Look: Dr. Parnassus

‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,‘ the latest from director Terry Gilliam, is expected to be one of the biggest films of the year when it hits theaters this Christmas. It was also Heath Ledger’s last movie. When the actor died in 2008, about a third of the way through shooting, his role was recast, and split between actors Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. (The three actors all donated their earnings to Ledger’s daughter, Matilda, who had not yet been included in Ledger’s will at the time of his death.) The film also stars Tom Waits as the devil, Christopher Plummer as 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus and model Lily Cole as Valentina, his daughter. Now, thanks to SPIN magazine, we’ve got a first look at the film’s trailer. If you aren’t already eagerly awaiting this movie, get ready to get very excited.
