Busy Signal Too Damned Busy for Jamaican Grammies

As Fader reports, the Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards (the Jamaican equivalent of the Grammies) was just last week, and one of their favorites (and ours) was not in attendance. Vybz Kartel may have been the big winner (or the Taylor Swift) of that particular ceremony, but its Busy Signal that has the tastemakers over at Fader dancing. With the release of three new tracks (one with genre-hopping sweetheart M.I.A.) Busy is apparently making a play for international recognition beyond the dancehalls of Kingston and the island music radio stations in the U.S. and abroad. Keep checking the music blogs and concert schedules to see if Busy Signal’s work pays off.

To dive waist deep into musical scenes from Ireland to Addis Adaba, pick up a copy of our “Music + Travel Worldwide” guidebook. There’s plenty of venues, restaurant and bars, and festivals to keep you busy as a beaver no matter where you go.
