News: Are Airline Charges Out of Control?

An airline charging for checked luggage is one thing but now charging for carry-ons? Well, New York Senator Chuck Schumer isn’t having it and after making calls to the CEOs of American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways and JetBlue Airways, he has convinced them not to go the same route as Spirit Airlines- which in August will start charging passengers for placing bags in their overhead compartments. What do you think readers? Is it ok for airlines to begin charging for this? After Ryanair stated that they’d soon be charging people to use the bathroom on flights, are all of these extraneous fees a slippery slope?
