Say what you will about Billy Joel but to many people, especially those from Long Island, Billy Joel is a living legend whose music has helped soundtrack countless road trips, pinnacle childhood moments and drunken karaoke nights. Besides being pretty close to pop perfection, Joel’s songs are a guidebook to his adolescents growing-up in the towns of Levittown and Hicksville on Long Island and recently, Lonely Planet took those lyrics very literally and explored some of the places mentioned including the Village Green and his “Italian Restaurant.”
