Vampire Weekend: Live (and Free!) in London

Vampire Weekend has recently caught some flack for their transformation from East Coast prepsters to laid-back California rockers. But no matter what coast they end up on, the band’s sound is as American as penny loafers and the Ivy League (or should we say as American as surfboards and sneakers?).
 
Tomorrow night, though, the Weekend is headed to the UK to celebrate the launch of their sophomore album, Contra, with a free show at Somerset House (The Strand London WC2R 1LA) in London at 5:30 pm.
 
The event is free on a totally first-come basis, plus the first 50 guests will get an extra bonus — free ice skating. Be there or, as they say, be square.
