‘The Hangover’ Guide to Vegas

TheHangoverLet’s get the weekend started early with a hangover. ‘The Hangover,’ to be exact. We love the comedy smash about a bachelor party gone wrong and lost weekend in Vegas, starring Justin Bartha as an eager groom-to-be and Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis as his bumbling groomsmen. So if you’re feeling lucky, let’s head to the strip, just be sure to pack some aspirin and drink plenty of water — this is definitely going to hurt…

‘The Hangover’ was shot over 15 days in Las Vegas, and the buddy flick features some of the strip’s most famous landmarks. For a home base, the guys in the film stayed at the iconic Caesars Palace, which, as we learn in the film, is not the Roman emperor’s “real” palace. Actually, it was built in 1965, during the city’s sexy Rat Pack heyday. To stay in style take a cue from the guys in the film and book the bi-level Emperors Suite, which will set you back a cool $4,475 night. The resort is currently hosting a Hangover special, which includes a $50 food and beverage credit to take the edge off, in-room movie and Hangover T-shirt for $152 a night. To tour Las Vegas ‘Hangover’ style, you’ll also want to hit up the Bellagio, where the guys do their gambling. One of the newer spots on the strip, the upscale, five-diamon hotel-casino opened in 1998, and recently underwent renovations. The casino’s poker room is a favorite for the pros, who like its high table limits. Professional poker players spend so much time (and money) at the Bellagio, that’s it’s even been nicknamed “The Office.” It’s also one of the pricier casinos in the city, so be careful you don’t end up like the guys — with a mysterious $800 bill.

If you plan on picking up a spouse while you’re in town, you won’t find the film’s fictional “Best Little Wedding Chapel.” Head to the filming location on Las Vegas Blvd. South and  what you will find is a strip club called The Talk of the Town. If you have your heart set on getting married, head just a few storefronts down to the famous 24-hour Little White Wedding Chapel located at 1301 Las Vegas Blvd. South. It’s the same place where Britney Spears married childhood friend Jason Alexander, and where Bruce Willis and Demi Moore tied the knot. Should you choose to make it official at the Little White Chapel, here’s hoping your nuptials last longer than those!
