Spotlight On: Project O.G.I., Moscow

What began in the early 90s as the meeting of a few select friends to discuss art and culture in a private apartment soon grew into an intellectualists’ paradise in the form of Project (or Proekt) O.G.I. Project O.G.I. is part publisher, part art gallery, music venue, clubhouse, restaurant and all night bookstore. Nearly every evening is something different with performances ranging from spoken word to punk music. Here too you’ll be able to find the occasional chanson music performance, which started in the prisons of pre-revolutionary Russia. There is dancing after midnight and cheap, but good, eats all day, making Project O.G.I. the perfect stop for nearly every taste and since it closes for only two hours each day (between 6am and 8am), the perfect stop at any time.
