Good Idea/Bad Idea

For a while we’ve been following ‘Where the Wild Things Are,’ Spike Jonze’s long-awaited adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s children’s classic. We dig the trailer and we love the behind-the-scenes site, and we can’t wait til the film comes out on Oct. 16. But there’s one thing we’re just not sure we can get behind: the video game. First off there’s the modern-midi version of Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” (that’s the song you’ll here in the film’s trailer), and we also can’t figure out what actually, well, happens. The folks over at io9 may have summed it up best when they said “the video-game trailer screams “money-making tie-in” so hard, it sucks the charm right out.“. What do you think? Would you play it?
