Fictional Real-Estate: Artist Creates Blueprints of TV Homes

Well here’s a meme whose time has come. BoingBoing, the enterprising curators that they are, dug up the portfolio of artist Mark Bennett, an illustrator who seems as enamored with the golden age of the boob tube as he is with the architectural draftsmanship. As seen above and below, Bennett has created fully detailed to-scale blueprints of some of television’s favorite homes including the Seattle high-rise of Dr. Frasier Crane, Ricky and Lucy Ricardo’s suite at the Beverly Arms Hotel, and the Upper East Side abode of George and Louise “Weezy” Jefferson. Now, usually through our “Film + Travel” series we like immerse our readers in the realities of various movie locations—touring you through the solid, physical streets, buildings, and cities that helped created beautiful onscreen images. In the case of the fully fictional bungalow of the Flintstones, Batman’s Wayne Manor, or the imaginary street plan of Mayberry, however, we have to defer to Bennett and his pencil.
